Spartanburg Economy is on an Upswing, Thanks to Local Entrepreneurs

Posted by: Jessica Osborne on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 3:26:24 pm

Spartanburg’s economy shows huge signs of great improvement with the recent boom in new business and expansions.  In October and November alone, the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce has facilitated over 7 Grand Openings, Ribbon Cuttings and Open House events.  Once again, empty store-fronts are being filled with new businesses built upon the dreams and ambitions of entrepreneurs determined to push forward in spite of the bleak outlook that many saw in the beginning of 2010.  With their “can do” attitudes and their willingness and desire to become involved in the Spartanburg business community, they are the cornerstone and the beginning of a major upswing in our local economy.   Show your support for these new and expanded local businesses:

November 12th, 12:00pm: Climb Upstate

Daniel Morgan Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29301 and the phone number is 864-699-9967.  Ribbon cutting will be at 12noon with all activities following.  Check out our website at www.climbupstate.com for additional information, pricing and hours.

November 12th, 4:00pm: Kalahari Cigar Bar & Lounge

Come out and visit the largest humidor in the Southeast and celebrate the opening of Spartanburg's newest upscale cigar bar at 1925 Hwy 101 off of I-85 near BMW.  The grand opening celebration begins at 4pm with the kick off of happy hour which lasts daily from 4-7pm featuring 25% off drink specials.  From 4-9pm there will be free cigar, wine and beer tasting and live entertainment by "Rockwell Blues" band.  Enjoy a full bar, smoke-eater ventilation system, hi-def TVs, finger foods and dessert.

November 16th, 5:30pm: Upstate Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork
Join us as we celebrate the Open House of Upstate Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork on the campus of Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg.  Linda Goulart, Licensed Massage Therapist and one of only TWO Structural Energetic Therapists (S.E.T. All Members are encouraged to attend these events and welcome these new businesses to the community and to the Chamber.
