Spartanburg County Schools
Spartanburg County schools are administered by seven school
districts and serve more than 44,000 students. They operate
39 elementary schools, 15 middle or junior high schools,
nine high schools, and four career centers or vocational
schools. Spartanburg County also has a number of private and
parochial schools. Recognized for its commitment to primary
and secondary education, Spartanburg County boasts Average
SAT scores for college-bound seniors that exceed the
national average SAT scores as well as the South Carolina
average scores.
Academic teams on the high school and middle school levels
that consistently have won or placed in state and national
academic tournament championships throughout the 1990s.
Scores on Advanced Placement Exams exceeding national
average scores by more than 20 percentage points.
One of only 26 public high schools nationwide to be
recognized three times by the U.S. Department of Education
as a National Blue Ribbon school.

the school year to enhance their computer skills.
