Diversity CONNECTIONS
Diversity CONNECTIONS is a monthly dutch-treat lunch event coordinated by the Chamber’s Diversity Committee. It is held on the second Wednesday of each month at an area restaurant. Attendance is open to all Chamber members and their guests. Each month a different business topic is featured via a guest presenter.

SSD…Strategic Sales Development Series
The Strategic Sales Development (SSD) program is designed for people who want to make the most of their sales efforts. Business owners, new salespeople, and those in a business development role will learn something new at each event. Formats include panel discussions and keynote speakers. Each event will feature a different topic of significance to people in sales…from improving closing techniques or goal setting to how to be successful in working with area purchasing managers.

Chamber Issues Forums
Special events are held throughout the year at breakfast or lunchtime, depending on speaker availability. Forums feature impactful speakers on issues of interest to the Chamber membership. Recent topics have included the proposed GSP Airport Expansion, Washington Report from US Senator Jim DeMint and a fall Candidate Forum.

Brown Bag Lunch Seminar Series
Seminars are typically held on Wednesdays in the Chamber Board Room. A series often features multiple events held on related topics. There are times when the topics are diverse and the sessions spread out over time. Participants bring their own lunch with the Chamber providing complimentary drinks and desserts.

Annual Meeting
The Spartanburg area’s premier business event! Over 900 guests are anticipated, including dignitaries, CEO’s and past Chamber Board Chairmen who attend this event at which the prestigious Neville Holcombe Distinguished Citizenship Award is presented. Other recognitions include the Duke Energy Community Service Award, the Palmetto Bank Small Business Person of the Year and the Chamber’s Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award.

Economic Forecast Breakfast
This breakfast event is for Chamber members and guests to hear economic projections from local business leaders along with a regional and national perspective provided by a guest economist.

Spring CEO Social
Two CEO Socials are typically held each year. The CEO Social provides an opportunity for CEOs, general managers and key Chamber representatives to network with each other during both “pre” and “post” meeting socials. Each CEO Social has a prominent business executive provide a brief presentation to the attendees. The speaker discusses current business trends primarily related to the speaker’s industry. The evening concludes with direct questions from the CEO attendees.

Women-In-Business Conference and Luncheon
The Women-In-Business Conference features several program topic presentations in the morning portion of the event. Then, at lunch, a keynote speaker or special panel focuses on a topic of special interest to local women in business. The Women-In-Business Luncheon attracts a wide range of business leaders, both men & women, from the Spartanburg area and offers an excellent networking opportunity.

Member Golf Tournament
The Spartanburg Area Chamber’s Member Golf Tournament is a networking event held each year at a member golf course. This gives members the opportunity to play golf and network at the same time in a casual atmosphere.

Landscape Beautification Awards
Believing that attractive business sites enhance the overall beauty of our community, the Spartanburg Area Chamber has partnered with the Spartanburg Men’s Garden Club for more than 30 years in a program that both evaluates and recognizes the landscaping efforts of our business community. A special reception and awards ceremony is held to express proper recognition to those businesses participating in this unique program.

Business SHOWCASE
The Business SHOWCASE is a unique vehicle for member businesses to reach a large number of potential new customers who attend this show! The Business SHOWCASE provides an opportunity for members to reach new customers. SHOWCASE events conclude with a special after-hours offering known as ‘A Taste of Spartanburg’ during the 5:30 to 7:00 pm timeframe.

Chairmen’s Cup Golf Tournament
In honor of our past Chairmen of the Board, the Spartanburg Area Chamber presents an annual Chairmen’s Cup Golf Tournament and a Past Chairmen’s Reception. The reception is usually held at The Piedmont Club and the tournament at the Woodfin Ridge Golf Club.

Minority Enterprise Development Awards Dinner
Minority Enterprise Development Celebration is a national celebration of the contributions that minority business owners have made in our global economy. The Chamber’s celebration, like the national, recognizes the accomplishments of a Minority Business Person of the Year and a Minority Business Advocate of the Year.

Economic Champions Recognition Luncheon
The Spartanburg Area Chamber’s feel-good event of the year! Each fall, the Chamber recognizes Economic Champions…local companies whose success has improved the Spartanburg area economy. This luncheon event will applaud companies who have improved the local economy by hiring new employees, upgrading equipment, expanding or investing in their locations, or receiving regional or national awards and recognition. In 2009, over 100 Economic Champions were recognized.

Legislative OUTLOOK Breakfast
In advance of the 2011 Session of the South Carolina General Assembly, we will be inviting the Spartanburg County Legislative Delegation to a special event to preview the upcoming session. The Chamber’s Legislative Issues Agenda will be shared. Each legislative leader will offer their perspective of the legislative session. Questions and Comments from the audience will be encouraged.
