The College is seeking an iconic image of the new Evans Academic Center, formerly known as the Evans Building, to commemorate the grand opening of the Downtown Campus and the College’s 50th anniversary this fall.

SPARTANBURG, SC— We’ve all been victims of the dreaded “auto correct” function on smart phones giving our text messages new meanings, but a new study shows a truly incoherent text message could be the sign of a medical emergency. A research team at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit states garbled text messages could be a sign of stroke, even in people who aren’t having trouble speaking.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 28, 2013) — A new location and start time for the 20th season of Music on Main highlights the onset of the City of Spartanburg’s popular weekly music events. Music on Main will be held at 175 West Main Street, a grassy area between the Downtown Clock Tower, Broad Street, and the Herald-Journal offices. A new stage for the event at that location is currently under construction, and will be completed in time for the first concert on Thursday, April 4. Music on Main is from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is held every Thursday, April through August.

AFL Partners with Greenville Family Partnership

Spartanburg, SC – March 28, 2013 – AFL presented a $7,500 grant to Greenville Family Partnership (GFP), a nonprofit organization that educates children and families about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. Made possible by AFL’s Community Outreach Program, the grant supports a high school or college intern for the organization and its annual Red Ribbon Classic.
