As Spartanburg rises, so must our ability to tell its story.
Tuesday, January 9, 2018
The opportunity recently arose to reassess our communications needs. It quickly became apparent that in order to tell Spartanburg’s story, we needed a deeper bench. Playing off of individual strengths, we’ve redesigned our team to maximize capacity and increase our ability to showcase Spartanburg as a choice place to live, work, play, visit, and do business.
Director of Strategic Communications – Naomi Sargent, a member of the Chamber team since August 2015, will step up to lead the communications team. She will create a streamlined communications strategy across the Chamber’s five entities, and will identify opportunities to highlight Spartanburg’s authenticity. Sargent has a track record of success in digital communications, social media strategy, and public relations. A shared resource with the Colleges of Spartanburg, Sargent will retain her position as Director of the College Town Consortium.
Design Coordinator – Equipped with a strong skillset in graphic design and visual communications, Brooke Robertson will step into the role of Design Coordinator. In this new role, Robertson will create the visual collateral and marketing materials needed to showcase Spartanburg’s assets. Robertson, a member of the Chamber team since October 2016, will create all visual components of campaigns and drive the Chamber’s brands.
Communications Coordinator – The newest addition to the Chamber’s roster, the communications coordinator will be responsible for creating written content, actively identifying storytelling opportunities, and implementing social media campaigns. We’re hiring for this position immediately. Click here to check out the role.
